Get More Business from Your Website–Here’s How
It’s the time of year when people vow this is the year they’re going to finally get in shape or make more money.
Of course, you know what happens; you go to the gym ½ a dozen times and then you find reasons not to go. Or, you sit in your office not sure what you need to do to make more money. So, you do more of what you did last year. All in all, by Jan. 31, you’re right back to your same old tricks.
Don’t let that be you this year. Resolutions are filled with good intentions but it’s goals that help you achieve your desires.
For example, if one of your goals is to generate more leads from your website in 2012, how are you going to do that?
First, you need to know a few key things about your website. Such as, are you getting leads from it already? And, if so, how many? If you’re already getting some leads, let’s say 10 a month, and you want to double that in the next 3 months, you can tweak your headline or your offer and increase your traffic and promotional efforts.
Traffic is Your Lifeblood — But it’s Not the Whole Story
Of course, you need to have people coming to your website, they need to see your amazing service and product. Some will buy, some won’t, but if you don’t have a large enough audience you need to create a plan to bring in more traffic.
The best sales copy in the world won’t make you a profit if it doesn’t get read. But then, maybe traffic isn’t your problem. You can have great traffic but still not be pulling the sales you need.
3 Ways to Generate More Leads From Your Site:
1- Increase Your Traffic
2- Test Different Offers
3- Set Up a Powerful Email Marketing Campaign
1—Increasing your traffic is a marathon, not a sprint. There are many ways you can increase it and get it building month after month without spending a fortune.
- Create great content – You know content is King. Luckily, there are many ways to create it. Photos, videos, blog posts, special reports, web pages and social media are just some of the ways you can add value and interest to build an audience.
- Use high value keywords to create most of your content. These terms are what your prospects are using to find specialists like you. You don’t have to do it with all of your content but be sure you use them more than not. And always use them with your webpages. Well-optimized web pages can pull traffic your way for years.
- Market your website through social media and link building. This can include buying ads in relevant ezines, writing articles that get you a link on other blogs or through directories or trade journals.
2. Test Your Offer
Good marketers are always testing. Once you have an audience, you can test your headlines, your offer and entire landing pages. For example, adding a guarantee will virtually out pull an offer without a guarantee every time. However, once in a great while the offer is so on target to its audience that the guarantee doesn’t matter.
You won’t know if you don’t test.
3—Email Marketing is Still Alive and Well – A report from EmailStatCenter.com found 34% of respondents from companies using email marketing stated “email contributed 75‐100% of total company sales.” A recent client of mine states their monthly email contributes to over 61% of their bottom line.
However, email marketing done well takes planning.
You need to great bait piece to encourage people to sign up for your newsletter and then you need to produce a consistent product. Too many companies are heavy on the sales pitch and light on the content. Make sure you offer more in value than you take in price.
