I get a lot of people that ask this question and was doing a podcast the other day where we had this discussion. Getting comfortable is so important if you want to go live on Facebook.
Here is the #1 tip: Think about who it is you are talking to. It’s kind of like the piece of writing advice about talking to one person. And if you’ve ever taken a writing course or you do a lot of writing you’ve probably heard this before. The concept is you are writing to one person.
It is the same thing with Facebook Live. Think about who you might be talking to on the other side, even if there is no one on. This is the best way to get more comfortable because if you don’t then it’s like trying to talk to this mass of humanity, and that’s a little intimidating. It’s really not so intimidating to talk to one person though is it? You do it all the time, every day.
Another tip for if you afraid of getting off track is to write down your topic and two or three bullets points on a Post It note that you can stick it on your computer (if you are using the FB Live for desktop) or somewhere convenient for you to see as you are speaking.
