When was the last time you moved house?
Was it recently?
If so, good, because this will be fresh in your mind. If not, think about the possibility.
What are some of the elements that go into considering a new home?
If you’re anything like me, location, size, and price are in the top three.
Here’s a quick video I made about it.
Narrowing Down Your Options
Last week we found out we have to move rather quickly.
For a day or two, we considered all our options including moving South as we’ve discussed in other moments. Moments of “What’s next?” Slightly in shock, we’d walk by one another and say something like, “My Dad has an upstairs he rarely even uses anymore.” Once our brains snapped back into focus, we decided to stay local and looked within a 10-mile radius.
Ok, now that geography more or less determined, it was onto matters like size of the new house. With my BF’s two kids, we need three bedrooms and since we both work from home, we need an office.
That narrowed things considerably.
And price was important because it’s always important.
What does this have to do with your marketing plan? It’s about being specific and many business owners are not specific enough about their offer.
For example, if you want a condo overlooking the city skyline you won’t be in the countryside looking at converted barns.
Successful marketing is also about specifics.
Running a Facebook ad campaign? What’s your offer? Are you selling the condo or the barn? Pick ONE for your ad.
Next, where are you sending the people?
When they click on your ad are they going to the condo page or the barn page?
Once you have this in mind, you can decide on images and write compelling copy.
After all, you wouldn’t pick out new paint colors until you decided on your new home. It’s the same with marketing.
